The title race is now on following United’s 2-1 victory at Fulham on Wednesday night and it’s looking like Solskjaer may still look to the transfer market to give his team a mid-season boost, with several players being linked to the Red Devils.
One of those is Gabriel Veron. United was linked with the high-profile teenager earlier this week.
The Brazil unknown has scored ten goals in 36 first-team appearances for Palmeiras, and he has a whopping £53m release clause.
However, rumours are circulating that suggest Palmeiras could be tempted to sell for around £18m and the Red Devils are believed to be leading the race against Real Madrid, Man City, Barcelona and Juventus.
As well as Veron, United are also believed to be eyeing 22-year-old RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano who has a £38million release clause.
But Bayern looks to be taking the lead to secure his signing.
“We will of course deal with it, not only with this player but in principle, on the positions where we want to do and have to do something,” said Rummenigge when asked about Upamecano.
“In the time of Corona, the money situation is also an important factor.“
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also believed to have given Manchester United a transfer dilemma after enduring a mixed start to the new season. According to rumours, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is open to signing another right-back this month to reignite the fight in Wan-Bissake, should an opportunity present itself.
